In Doxa Deo we refer to ourselves as a city-focused church. You are probably wondering what this connection is between church and a city. Did you know that God loves cities? Did you know that Jesus cried over cities? Did you know that mankind started out in a garden but ended up in a city? Today the greater portion of the world’s population live in cities. We believe that God has a plan for cities.

Historically churches did well within rural settings being a strong influence in the village or town. Geographically the church was in the middle of the village or town, a symbol of its central influence, governing community life and influencing the values and worldviews of its people. In the city the church has become marginalized and lost its voice as the dominant influence. We believe that a new day is dawning for the church in the city! God is downloading a plan which will allow the church once again to become the primary voice in cities.
